Cancer is a disease that can plague its survivors emotionally even after it has been cured. Surviving cancer is a feat in itself and can sometimes leave emotional scars on the person’s minds. Cancer survivors also have other concerns at hand. They pose a major risk for recurrent cancer. Sometimes the excessive chemo and radiation therapy can cause damage to the heart and cause heart diseases at a later stage. Therefore, it is important for cancer survivors to get regular check ups done. Cancer survivors are known to suffer from psychological disorders. The survivors are constantly under the notion that the cancer might return, and they also sometimes expect the same sympathy that was meted out to them during their treatment. Therefore, along with regular medical check ups it may be necessary to seek psychiatric help as well.

The duration of the treatment can also affect the mental health of the patients. Treatments that span long durations can make it difficult for the patients to return to normal life. The expenses incurred during the treatment can also disturb the emotional health of the patients.

Many children survive cancer and these young survivors tend to get more emotionally affected than adult survivors. Battling with a fatal disease at a tender age can pose serious risks to mental health. It is important for parents to understand the children and treat them with care. Regular visits to psychiatrists will help children in overcoming the trauma faced during the treatment. Children should be well educated about their condition.

Many societies and non profits have been formed to help cancer survivors share their experiences. These societies bring cancer survivors together and encourage them to share their experiences. Sharing such stories certainly helps others to learn from the experiences. It is a great source of unburdening the tensions.

It is important for peers and family members to watch out for tell tale signs of depression especially in young children. Young children tend to keep quiet about their feelings and therefore, it is should be absolutely essential to talk to them openly. Self help and counseling groups play an important role by bringing together survivors of all age groups. They encourage them to narrate the tales of their survival and the counseling held by these groups takes care of the emotional needs of its members. It helps them to reveal the innermost queries hidden in their minds regarding the disease. Young survivors are taught the meaning of life and are asked to concentrate on what lies ahead of them.

Scientists have found that cancer is known to also cause fatigue. The groups also suggest coping strategies to its members. There is usually no fee for admission to such clubs or it is very nominal. The main motto of these organizations is to put the life of cancer survivors back on track by giving them a place to speak their hearts out without the fear of being ignored by society.

Cancer statistics shows that four out of every ten Americans are diagnosed with cancer and unfortunately every two of every ten die of the disease. Still there are some precautions by which cancer can be reduced in the life. Important thing which all the physicians recommend is that to check the lifestyle to make a superior difference in life. Managing lifestyle by avoid smoking, reduced drinking, control over the weight, exercising and always ensure to eat healthy.
Can Water Contamination be Responsible For Cancer?

Whereas according to a new report from the President's Cancer Panel, there is surprising news that environmental toxin also plays a very significant role in causing cancer called as “grievous harm” which is even unknown to number of people. An another research shows that infant are born “pre-polluted” with more than 200 industrial chemicals, pesticides and contaminants which are creating enough to cause cancer before the pre-mature stage even the water forms the major reason towards causing cancer.

From the year 2004 there are continuous testing done on water and it has been found that about 315 pollutants are available in tap water. The analysis was supported and done on drinking water quality of almost about 21 million records obtained from different states. These detected chemicals available in water are affecting health of people. Whereas the federal government is unable to frame health guidelines for prevention of water contaminated diseases. 49 of these contaminants have been found at different levels which are above the prevailing health guidelines. The government is still unable to form the standard guidelines since year 2001.

The water utilities have increased by 19 times more then what it used to be in the earlier water treatments. As the federal government investment lies in protecting lakes, rivers from contamination on the utmost priority. Based on current assessment, the federal government should look forward to the responsibility to do a national evaluation of drinking water quality for health management by establishing new safety standards through setting priorities guidelines and encouraging the pollution prevention projects by making the public aware of the full range of pollutants in the water.

The tap water across the United State is contaminated with many hard industrial chemicals and millions of Americans are drinking low level mixtures of pharmaceuticals with every glass of water. These are not only issues harming health of adults but concern the increasing risk factor for infants and to people who are weak. Drug residues contaminate drinking water supplies when the body absorbed a lot whereas pushes only some. Drinking water treatment plants are not 100% designed to check/remove these chemical residues.

The agencies working towards health reported that drinking water supplies are unregulated in the tap water. Government has failed to set a strong standard for pharmaceuticals but have also have failed to maintain the require utilities level to test the contamination ratios. The another shocking fact is that the drug residues in tap water have hundreds of other synthetic chemicals to which people are exposed daily leading to contaminants in food and other eatables. These pollutants are increasing the ratio of cancer showing picture that if this contamination is not given tight knot will increase survival risk to the greatest extent
